Herb is the man

While at the Centennial, Herb, the 102 survivor, made me feel lazy. He works 2 days a week at Andronico's (paraphrasing here) "I take all the rotten or damaged goods, pack them back up and ship them back to the warehouse, so we get some credit."
Heh, he's got life in him.

[livejournal.com profile] chicafangs and I woke up at 04:12, half hour later than we wanted , but we went, found parking, and were standing at the fountain at 05:12. The sirens in the city were rather haunting. I could feel a chill of the spirits of the past there, and it all made for a wonderful moment for which I am glad I was present. As the sun rose above the Ferry Building, the sky was turning nice & clear. For a moment, it was an eerie reminder of 9/11; the weather was crystal clear there and here.

Afterwards, I picked up a few Earthquake edition newspapers, and we had breakfast at John's Grill. We got there just in time, 5 minutes after we placed our order, the joint was packed. We had tasty omelets too big to complete ($12.06) and washed it down with a morning mimosa ($4.06...see a theme here?)

Now I'm at work. Actually, I got here at 07:50. I don't remember the last time I got to work while being awake for more than three hours in that partcular day.

?!??!

People are wrestling in the office next to me.

These people are hiring managers for the new Best Buy down the street in MV, across from Costco.

Paging Dr. WTF?
